Race Program

>  Distances
1. Sprint – 750m swim/ 20 km bike/ 5 km run
2. Olympic / International – 1500m swim/ 40km bike/ 10km run
3. Olympic / International relay - 1500m swim/ 40km bike/ 10km run; in teams of 2 or 3
 
>  Friday, October 19th

09:00 – 22:00 Race registration at the Evason Resort and Spa.
Please bring proper identification with you to claim your registration pack.

Once you have received your registration pack you will need to proceed to the timing table to have your timing chip checked to make sure your chip number corresponds with you race bib number.

You will also be asked for a 500 Baht deposit, which will be returned when the chip is returned at the end of the race.

Your registration pack will include:

  • Race number for bike & run
  • Competitor's T-shirt
  • Numbered bag for race gear
  • (1) Invitation to the Awards dinner

20:00 – 21:00 Race Briefing in English and Thai (attendance mandatory)

Parking
Competitors and spectators driving to Evason Resort on race morning should follow all signs and volunteer directions for available parking areas. Please arrive no later than 06:15. As the road leading to the car parking area is part of the bike course and so to ensure athlete safety, this road will be closed from 06:15 until 13:00.

05:30-06:45
Transition area opens at Evason Resort for check in, numbering and placing equipment. The transition area will be directly in front of the hotel overlooking the beach. It will close at 06:45 prompt. Athletes and race officials only, are allowed in the transition area. Please note that no mobile phones or personal music devices will be allowed in the transition area.
From the transition area, athletes walk to the swim start located just north of the transition area. Fill bike bottles from your hotel room or home before arriving at transition. Pre-race aid stations will be available at the transition area. In addition, there will be 2 aid stations on the bike course, 3 aid stations on the run course and a post-race aid station and medical facilities at the finish area.

05:30 – 06:45 Transition area open and body marking

06:45 Proceed to start point

07:00 Race Start – Sprint Race

07:15 Race Start Olympic (ind and teams)

12:30 Final competitors finish and roads reopened Finisher Medals will be presented to every athlete who completes the race at the finish line.

19:00 - 23:00 Awards Banquet
The Awards Banquet will be held at the Evason Resort. All athletes are invited to attend and guests are invited to purchase tickets in advance online. Tickets must be presented to gain entry to the banquet. If not sold out, tickets will be sold at Registration and at the door. Race photos will also be sold at the door.

08:00 - 13:00 - Athlete Hospitality
Post race hospitality shall include, fresh fruit, ice and water to help re-hydrate all athletes.
Medical Tent

05:30 - 15:00 - Medical Tent
A Medical Tent will be located near the finish area at the Evason hotel for athletes who require medical attention before and after the race. This area will be closed at 15:00. Any athletes in need of medical attention after 15:00 should go to the hotel doctor for further advice.

Post Race Equipment Pick-Up
In your registration pack, you will receive one numbered bag to be used for gear after the completion of the swim and the bike.
All bags, equipment and bikes must be claimed and removed from the Transition Area by 14:30 on race day.
To claim left items show race number which must correspond to the number on the bag(s). You will be responsible for transporting your own gear back to your hotel after the race.
Lost and Found
This will be located at the transition area and will be open until 14:30 on race day. After this time, any remaining lost property items will be transferred to the race office. Please remember to label all of your equipment before the race.

Label Gear
Label every piece of clothing and gear, including both shoes, before coming to Pranburi.
Weather Conditions
Average air temperature for October in Pranburi is 27°C/ 81°F with 85% humidity. Athletes MUST hydrate properly during race week, race morning and throughout the race. Bikes should be equipped with at least two water bottle cages.

Personal Safety
Always train with another person, especially in the water. While in the water, please wear a brightly coloured swim cap. When biking and running, please take precautions as Thai drivers and motorcyclists are unpredictable. Take extreme caution when biking on ALL public roads.

Awards Banquet
An Awards Banquet will be held after the race. All athletes receive one ticket as part of their race fees. Additional tickets can be bought online and will also be on sale at Registration on 19 October (Friday). Tickets cost Baht 1000.

Bike Storage
Bikes will be permitted to be stored in athlete’s hotel rooms. However, all maintenance must be done in hotel car parks in order to prevent damage to room furnishings.

Bike Mechanic (19 – 20 October)
There are no bike shops in Pranburi and the nearest ones in Hua Hin (30km) are not very well equipped, so athletes should bring spare parts with them. A bike mechanic will be stationed at the hotel on Friday 19 October from 09:00 - 21:00 and on Saturday 20th October from 05:30 - 09:00.
